In the past, each family made its own patxaka but its production has gradually become marginalized. Liquor of character marked by the imprint of the Basque terroir, it is today a rare and courted product.
The apples used, Anisa and Mamula, are typical of the mountains of the region. Hardy varieties, you will recognize them by their small size, their high fiber content and their powerful flavor mixed with a hint of bitterness. Harvested by hand, they macerate for 3 months in our homemade anisette.
The Patxaka Egiazki is very gourmet, it reminds us of an apple pie, like a tarte tatin. Suave and soft liquor, slightly sweet, it leaves a beautiful length in the mouth, very expressive.
The nose releases delicate aromas of aniseed apples and caramel.
Patxaka Egiazki does not contain artificial flavors or colorings, its appearance and flavors are guaranteed 100% natural. Bottling, corking and labeling are also done by hand.
Wild apples (Anisa and Mamula), sugar, alcohol, water, anise
With a nice length in the mouth, the Patxaka is traditionally tasted on ice as a digestive. Gourmet and not very sweet, it will also sublimate your cocktails. Original recipes to discover on our Cocktails page!
Our liqueurs can also be used in cooking and Patxaka is particularly appreciated by chefs to spice up dishes or bring sweetness : cakes ans pies, jams, chutney...
